Embracer Group Spins Off Coffee Stain, Rebrands as Fellowship Entertainment
In a significant corporate restructuring, Embracer Group announced plans to spin off Coffee Stain Group into a standalone, publicly listed company by the end of 2025. Shares in Coffee Stain will be distributed to Embracer shareholders and are intended for listing on the Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market in Stockholm.
Following the spin-off, the remaining business of Embracer will be rebranded as Fellowship Entertainment. This move comes after earlier structural changes, including the separation of Asmodee. A new holding company, Embracer AB, will act as a long-term shareholder for Asmodee Group, Coffee Stain Group, and Fellowship Entertainment.

Coffee Stain’s leadership views the move as an opportunity for greater focus and autonomy. “Now, as we take the step to become a separately listed company, it feels both exciting and…a little bit scary—but in a good way,” said Anton Westbergh, co-founder and CEO of Coffee Stain. “We believe this move gives us clarity and control…to focus even more on what we do best—supporting our developers, staying close to our communities…”
Embracer’s CEO Lars Wingefors expressed confidence in Coffee Stain’s future, stating, “Coffee Stain Group has incredible talent [and] intellectual properties… I am confident in the future of Coffee Stain as a standalone company.”
Coffee Stain Studios, the developer behind the hugely successful survival game Valheim, is a key part of the Coffee Stain Group. The spin-off could potentially allow the studio to double down on its strengths in the survival and indie publishing space.
As Embracer Group continues to evolve and restructure, gamers and industry analysts will be watching closely to see how these corporate maneuvers impact the development and publishing of highly anticipated titles. The spin-off of Coffee Stain Group and the rebranding of Embracer as Fellowship Entertainment mark a new chapter in the company’s dynamic history.
